The New Microsoft Planner

Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft To Do have come together in a single task management tool - the new Microsoft Planner, which is now available to all users! This integrated platform is designed to simplify and centralize your tasks, plans, and projects, and now also includes integration with Copilot.

Two plans are available in Planner - the Basic and the Premium plans. The Basic Plan allows you to define tasks, assign them to team members, set start and end dates, monitor progress, and determine a priority level for each task. You can also organize tasks by type of work or department.

The basic plan also includes using various templates, such as Project Management, Commercial Construction, Software Development, Business Plan, and Employee Integration.

The Premium Plan takes the experience to the next level, offering more advanced templates, such as Sprint Planning, Marketing Campaigns, and Simple Project Management. Additionally, the Premium license provides access to Microsoft Copilot for Planner, a powerful tool that uses generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create and monitor tasks efficiently.

Microsoft Copilot for Planner

With generative AI, Copilot in Microsoft Planner is your ideal assistant to simplify the planning and execution of your projects. It keeps you informed about your goals and the current status of pending tasks. Even if you already have Copilot for Microsoft 365, Copilot for Planner is an exclusive feature of the Premium Plan.

Examples of Copilot prompts in Planner:

  • Which tasks need immediate attention?
  • Which team member is overloaded?
  • What are my pending tasks?
  • Create subtasks for organizing an event.
  • Structure the launch of a new product.

How to access Planner?

The Planner application is now generally available in Microsoft Teams. Access it through the side navigation bar, where you can start creating a new plan or explore predefined templates. Microsoft announced that later this year, the web version of the new Microsoft Planner will be launched.
