Transform productivity with Copilot for Microsoft 365
Copilot brings a new work experience to Microsoft 365

Microsoft has announced the launch of a new work experience for Copilot for Microsoft 365 users, through new features.

The first major innovation is the launch of Business Chat, a new work standard that transforms all organizational content into a rich information database. This will allow users to collaborate with Copilot as a true partner. Business Chat will gather data from the web and the users' work into Copilot Pages, the first digital artifact in the era of artificial intelligence (AI).

Another innovation is the updates that Copilot will bring to Microsoft 365's traditional productivity tools. The next step will be transformations in advanced data analysis in Excel, dynamic storytelling creation in PowerPoint, better inbox management in Outlook, and much more.

Additionally, Microsoft will also introduce Copilot Agents, responsible for facilitating the automation and execution of business processes for any team.

Copilot Pages – The new digital platform for the AI era

Copilot is the new interface for AI. It all starts with BizChat, a central hub that brings together all user data – web, work, and business area – directly into the daily workflow. Through BizChat, the user can work with Copilot as a partner, adding value to all organizational content. Microsoft announced Copilot Pages, a dynamic interface in BizChat, designed to enable AI collaboration among various users.

With Pages, all organizational data – created by humans or AI – is stored, accessible, and gains value. Pages transform AI-generated content, making it enduring, so it can be edited, expanded, and shared with others. Individually or in teams, it will be possible to collaborate on a page with Copilot, seeing everyone’s work in real-time and interacting with Copilot as a partner. This is a new work standard – a collaboration from humans to AI and back to humans.

Boosting productivity with Copilot

For millions of people worldwide, work happens in Microsoft 365 applications. This is where Copilot is already becoming a daily tool, providing personal productivity gains and greater time savings.

Copilot in Excel

When people want to work with data and get real value from it, they turn to Excel. Microsoft announced that Copilot in Excel is now generally available, allowing work with data that has not been formatted as a table. New features have been introduced to explore the full potential of Excel, with support for more formulas like XLOOKUP and SUMIF, conditional formatting, and the ability to interact with Copilot to create charts and pivot tables as needed by each user.

Additionally, in public preview, Microsoft is announcing Copilot in Excel with Python, combining the power of Python – one of the world’s most popular programming languages for working with data – with Copilot in Excel. Now, anyone can use Copilot to perform advanced analyses such as forecasting, risk analysis, machine learning, and complex data visualization – all through natural language, without the need for code.

Copilot in PowerPoint

No one goes from an idea to a finished presentation in a single click. Now generally available, the Narrative Builder in PowerPoint allows working with Copilot to create a first draft in minutes, always keeping the user in control of the creative process. Copilot uses a specific request to build an outline with topics that can be edited and refined to create the first draft of the presentation. With Brand Manager, Copilot can use the company’s layouts, ensuring that presentations comply with the brand.

Copilot in Teams

In current meetings, there are two important conversations: the spoken one and the one happening in the chat. Copilot in Teams can now analyze both the meeting transcript and the chat to give the user a complete view of what was discussed. For example, you can ask Copilot if there were any unanswered questions in a meeting, and it quickly analyzes what was said and written in the chat to check if anything was left unclear.

Copilot in Outlook

Now, with the ‘Prioritize my inbox’ feature, Copilot in Outlook helps the user quickly get to the messages that matter, analyzing the inbox based on the email content and the context of the user’s role – who they report to and the email threads they have been most active in. There’s no need to go through long messages – Copilot automatically generates a concise summary of each email and includes the reason why the message was prioritized, along with the key information.

Copilot in Word

When working in Word, it is often necessary to add content from other documents and applications. However, searching for and incorporating the necessary information can be time-consuming and interrupt the writing process. Copilot in Word will allow quick references not only to web data and work data like Word, PowerPoint, PDFs, and encrypted documents but also to emails and meetings. And it integrates this information directly into the workflow, so you can get to good content quickly. Recent updates include a new start experience on the screen itself, with prompt suggestions to speed up the creative process and the ability to collaborate with Copilot directly while working on specific sections of the document – both now generally available.

Copilot in OneDrive

OneDrive is a rich repository where professionals store personal work content, but they can also spend a lot of time trying to find the right documents. Copilot in OneDrive can quickly analyze all files to find the necessary information, gain insights, and summaries, and compare up to five files with a clear and easy-to-read summary of the differences and details within the files – without opening any file.

Enhance your team with Copilot Agents

The latest major innovation brought by Microsoft is Copilot Agents. Agents are AI assistants designed to automate and execute business processes, and to work with or for humans. They range from simple agents that respond to requests, to agents that replace repetitive tasks, and more advanced, fully autonomous agents. Copilot Agents work in the background, fully managed and powered by Copilot.

To further facilitate the creation of Copilot Agents, Microsoft announced Agent Builder, a new simplified experience powered by Copilot Studio. Now anyone can quickly create a Copilot Agent directly in BizChat or SharePoint.

The value of Copilot

In the past 18 months, working with Copilot has become a daily habit for people around the world, helping them complete tasks faster, have more effective meetings, collaborate more efficiently, and streamline business processes. The number of Copilot customers has grown by more than 60% quarter over quarter, while the number of people using Copilot daily at work has doubled.
