Microsoft Launches Copilot Chat to Boost Business Productivity

Microsoft has launched Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, a new solution that adds pay-as-you-go Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents to the existing free chat experience for Microsoft 365 commercial customers. With this new feature, organizations can further enhance the productivity levels provided by Copilot, allowing employees to work smarter, faster, and more collaboratively.

The new Copilot Chat is designed to be used as a research tool, through which users can perform actions such as conducting market research, drafting a strategic document, or preparing a meeting. At the same time, the new Microsoft 365 Copilot solution allows files to be uploaded directly into the chat, enabling Copilot to perform actions such as summarizing key points in a Word document, analyzing data in an Excel spreadsheet, or suggesting improvements in a PowerPoint presentation. Copilot Chat is also linked to Copilot Pages, allowing users to collaborate on content with people and AI in real-time, adding content from Copilot, files, and the web, and quickly creating AI-generated images for campaigns, product launches, and social media posts.

Another feature of Copilot Chat is AI agents. Using natural language, users can now easily create agents to automate repetitive tasks and business processes directly in Copilot Chat. The price of these agents will be calculated based on their usage, controlled by each company's IT department.

Both the chat and the agents will be based on a Copilot control system, which includes essential features such as business data protection and agent management. IT teams can manage access and use of Copilot and the agents and gain visibility into the status and lifecycle of the agents.

While Copilot Chat is a powerful gateway for the entire organization to adopt the habit of working with AI, Microsoft 365 Copilot remains the best personal AI assistant for the workplace. It includes the whole Copilot Chat experience and more: integration with all meetings, emails, chats, documents, and more; availability of Copilot in all Microsoft 365 applications, such as Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and others; and the use and access to agents.
