Microsoft announces new features for its AI tools at Build

Microsoft Build is the largest technology event for developers and technical audiences, where 60 new products and features of Artificial Intelligence (AI) were announced. Get to know the latest news in the world of AI:

  • Real-Time Intelligence from Microsoft Fabric
Microsoft has launched a new complete Software as a Service (SaaS) solution called “Real-Time Intelligence from Microsoft Fabric.” This tool allows customers to work with large volumes of time-sensitive and highly granular data, making faster and more informed business decisions. It is useful for both low/no-code experienced analysts and professional developers with rich code user interfaces.
 
  • GitHub Copilot
The GitHub Copilot, an AI-based programming tool, now has extensions developed by Microsoft in conjunction with partners. These extensions allow customizing the GitHub Copilot usage experience with Azure, Docker, and Sentry services. Moreover, GitHub Copilot for Azure enables the exploration and management of Azure functionalities while solving problems and locating relevant records and codes. Copilot Chat can be used to build in natural language with broader functionalities.
 
  • GPT-4o and Phi-3-vision 
The GPT-4o, OpenAI’s newest main model, is available on Azure AI Studio and as an API. It integrates text, image, and audio processing for generative and conversational AI experiences. Additionally, the Phi-3-vision, a new multimodal model from the Phi-3 family of Small Language Models (SLMs) developed by Microsoft, is also available on Azure, allowing the input of images and text and receiving text responses. These models can be experimented with on Azure AI Playground and customized in Azure AI Studio.
 
  • AMD’s MI300X AI Accelerator Chip
Microsoft is the first cloud provider to utilize AMD’s MI300X AI accelerator chip, offering Azure ND MI300X v5 virtual machines optimized for AI workloads and high-performance computing (HPC) such as the Azure OpenAI service. The company is also launching new virtual machines (VMs) based on the ARM Cobalt 100 processor, with a 40% performance improvement for native cloud workloads.
 
  • Copilot+ PC
Microsoft announced the new generation of Windows PCs, Copilot+PC, designed to enhance the use of AI. Specifically developed to boost AI utilization, these new devices enter the market as the fastest and smartest ever created.
